Review by the Whats on Bristol Website
"Quite a few restaurants have come and gone on the Harbourside since the first heady days of the expansion of Bristol’s city centre waterside development, but Tikka Flame has gone from strength to strength, gaining popularity and an envied reputation for quality in Indian dining" ...

Trip Advisor Highlights
I visited this restaurant with a friend on Saturday night around whilst away in Bristol for a girl’s weekend shopping trip. After many hours of shopping we were in need of a good meal and good wine.
We walked around the Harbour side to find the usual bunch of well known branded restaurants and decided that it looked the most tempting. I presumed at the time that the restaurant was part of a chain which I was unfamiliar with as the décor was plush and stylish and whilst the upstairs of the restaurant was not in use the downstairs was full and there was a nice modern ambient feel. Unlike many independent Indian restaurants which can sometimes feel a little chintzy and cobbled together over the years, this felt purpose built to a definite specification, so I was surprised to find out this was an independent restaurant holding its own amongst the big chain restaurants.
We had no reservation but the lady (presumed to be the manager) said that she could accommodate us in 5 minutes if we’d like to have a drink at the bar and a look through the menu. The menu had a number of items I’d not seen before but also the firm favourites which suit most English palettes.
The kitchen was in view from the restaurant and looked clean. The meal was well paced and was very good… no, not very good.. It was delicious. We ordered a sharing starter with a satay style sauce (perfect – with just a hint of a kick). The onion bhaji were crisp and flavoursome (obviously cooked in clean oil), no pasty gram flour centres here! Main course we ordered a chicken dish and a lamb dish with various nann breads and purees’ all were served hot, well presented and on beautifully clean dinnerware.
We ordered the house wine and asked if it were dry… we were told Medium-dry. The Manager simply brought a bottle and suggested we try it and if we didn’t like it much she would open a bottle of something else for us. It was very good and we were impressed with the attitude that she wanted us to have something we liked. We found all the staff very friendly.
We were very impressed and felt the meal was reasonably and fairly priced. Well done Tikka Flame – more than capable of running with the pack
